The popular Opel Corsa has won the “Car of the Year 2007” award in Russia. The "Car of the Year" award is one of the most reputable car awards in Russia. Being a national prize, all regions of Russia participated in the voting.

"This award is very important for GM as it reflects the opinion of millions of people. The voting of our car customers expressed how positively they see our products. We are very happy that the Corsa won this prestigious prize,” said Jacek Gorski, Commercial Director of GM CIS.
At the prize-giving ceremony it was emphasized that the Corsa has an exciting and sporty design, a newly developed chassis for safe and agile cornering, remarkable high-tech features, a high-quality interior, plenty of space and numerous clever ideas such as the integrated rear carrier system, “Flex-Fix”.
GM is present on the Russian market with five of its brands – Chevrolet, Opel, Saab, Cadillac and HUMMER. Last year just under 20,000 Opel cars were sold in Russia. In the first three months of 2007, sales of Opel cars exceeded 9,000 units (with 4,400 units in March alone).
