• Over 700 artists entered the Chevrolet Song Contest on MusicNation.com and MusicNation.de
• “Chevy in Drive” and “Down in Dixie” will be featured on Chevrolet Legends Vol. 2



Earlier this year, Chevrolet launched an open song contest for unsigned musicians with Music Nation, the online home for independent music, to offer new artists priceless exposure in Europe. When the contest closed on March 4th, more than 700 artists registered on MusicNation.com for their chance to be featured on the exclusive Chevrolet Legends CD Vol. 2 alongside some of the biggest artists in music today.



Wayne Brannon, Executive Director, Chevrolet Europe, says: “We were amazed by the creativity and professionalism of all the songs entered in our contest. It was indeed very hard to make a final decision on the winner. In the end, we had two songs, both of which we thought truly represent the spirit of Chevrolet. Finally, we decided that Jaymie Gerard wins the Chevrolet Song Contest with her song “Chevy in Drive,” and we decided to feature the runner-up, “Down in Dixie” by David Lane, on the Chevrolet Legends CD as well.”

For decades, many artists have featured Chevrolet and its cars in their songs. To date, more than 600 songs mention Chevrolet in their lyrics. With the song contest, Chevrolet reached out to find the legends of tomorrow.

The Chevrolet Legends Vol. 2 CD is exclusive to the pan-European Dream Garage promotion campaign and will not be available in music stores. Everyone participating in the Chevrolet Dream Garage campaign will not only have a chance to win the 1st prize of three Chevrolet cars, but they will also have a fair chance to receive a copy of the limited edition of Chevrolet Legends Vol. 2.

The songs “Chevy in Drive” by Jaymie Gerard and “Down in Dixie” by David Lane will also soon be available on www.chevroleteurope.com for free download.

Jaymie Gerard is 26 years old and lives in New Jersey, USA. She began to write songs and perform in various cafes, bars, and bookstores in New York, NY, at the age of 13.
For more than half her life, she has been singing and writing her own songs, fine-tuning and developing her own unique style. Jamie is known for her clever lyrics, playful melodies and sultry-sweet voice.

About David Lane:
David Lane is 29 years old and lives in Palm Coast, FL, USA. At the age of six, he knew already he wanted to be a singer for the rest of his life. As a boy, David recorded his albums on an old karaoke machine and passed them out in his neighborhood. David has been singing and writing his owns songs for many years to develop his own modern country style. He regularly performs live on stage and won the 2006 Clay County Talent Showcase in Florida. David is married and has one daughter.
