Opel Presents New Frontera Olympus
The Frontera Olympus is the new top-of-the-line model in Opel's range
of off-road vehicles. The attractive special edition, designed in collaboration
with Olympus Optical (Europa) GmbH, will premiere at the International
4x4 Motor Show in Val d'Isere, France (August 11 – 19, 2001).
The Frontera Olympus is available in "Star silver" and "Midnight
black"; its color scheme and interior design were inspired by the
Olympus IS All-In-One SLR (Single Lens Reflex) camera series with integrated
zoom. The bumpers, radiator grille, side protection moldings and hardtop
(only for three-door Frontera in "Star silver") are painted
in body color. The exterior design is matched by the interior with its
dark gray seats and part-leather upholstery. The instrument panel, center
console and seat belts are in silver gray and the floor mats carry the
Olympus logo. And a special bonus: Every new Frontera Olympus buyer will
find an Olympus IS 300 camera waiting for him or her in the car.
The Frontera Olympus is available with three or five doors and a choice
of two gasoline (2.2 16V and 3.2 V6) engines and one diesel (2.2 DTI 16V),
and features a comprehensive standard equipment specification like regular
Fronteras.
In 1999, Olympus and Opel began a long-term marketing cooperation for
the off-road Frontera and the Olympus All-in-One IS-300 camera. The versatile
IS-300 from Olympus is a perfect match for the Frontera's adventure
image – spectacular photographs have always played an important role
in the advertising for Opel's off-road model.
