Holden Australia Maintains Sales Momentum with Record July Results

Holden Australia continues to record strong sales in a buoyant market, with its best July performance since 1973. Holden achieved total sales in July of 15,290 vehicles - 11,934 ahead of Toyota and 9,765 ahead of Ford to establish a year to date lead of 16,703 and 33,360 vehicles respectively.

Holden's year to date market share is 21.4 percent, versus Toyota at 17.6 percent and Ford at 13.8 percent. In the passenger market, the company achieved its best July sales since 1971. Holden's year to date passenger share is 25.6 percent - 4.2 percentage points higher than the same time last year - 21.4 percent.

The momentum continued across light commercial sales, with Holden recording a market share of 14.5 percent for the month - two percentage points higher than July 2000.
