Chevrolet to Provide Vehicles for Chile's
XV Rio Summit
Chevrolet was the official vehicle of choice for the XV Rio Group
Summit, held August 17-18, in Santiago, Chile. Chevrolet's participation
underscores its position as Chile's preferred automotive brand and the
strength of the GM Chile team.
Chevrolet provided 60 vehicles that were used to transport heads of state,
government leaders and delegates attending the summit. The fleet featured
20 Impalas - appointed the "presidential vehicle, 20 Vectras and
20 Grand Luv - the first SUV assembled in Chile. Chevrolet's dealer network
and customer services, including 24-hour roadside assistance, were available
to support the Summit.
The Rio Group, founded in 1986, is comprised by heads of states from Argentina,
Bolivia, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, México, Panamá,
Paraguay, Perú, Uruguay y Venezuela, as well as representatives
from Central America and CARICOM.
