Holden maintains market leadership in strong market
In October, Holden retains market leadership for the tenth consecutive month in the Australian market. With total sales of 14,886 vehicles, Holden also achieved the company's best October result in 28 years.
Despite fears of a market downturn, total industry sales for the year to date have remained buoyant, decreasing by just 0.9 per cent over 2000 - the second highest sales year on record.
While October total industry sales decreased 1.9 per cent over the same month in 2000, Holden's momentum increased, rising by 9 per cent.
Holden sales are now ahead of Toyota by 22,214 units and Ford by 48,935 for the year to date. In market share terms Holden is 2.8 percentage points ahead of 2000 year to date and its passenger market share has increased by 4.1 percentage points over the same period.
