Opel Speedster is "Best Car 2001" in Portugal

The Opel Speedster has been named "Best Car 2001" by Super-Motores, the leading sports car magazine in Portugal. Among other outstanding features, the editorial staff of the paper recognized the sports vehicle's "excellent chassis and suspension", its "agility, precision and efficiency".

Furthermore, the Speedster's "unique driving feeling", the "affordable prize" and the "absence of body movements" contributed to this success.

Super-Motores has been the opinion leading sports cars magazine in Portugal for the last seven years.

Since its launch, the Opel Speedster/Vauxhall VX220 received a variety of recognitions among them the awards of the "Convertible of the Year 20002 by international motoring journalists at the Geneva Motor Show, "Best Roadster 2000" by the prestigious English motoring magazine "What Car?", "Design of the Year 2001" by Portuguese auto magazine "auto" as well as the "Coup de Coeur Award 2001" by the French "L'Automobile Magazine" and the "Car of the Year 2001" in the Polish edition of the "Playboy" magazine.
