Opel Polska produced the 250.000th vehicle at its Gliwice plant

The 250.000th vehicle produced at Opel Polska's Gliwice plant, an Agila "Njoy", drove off the assembly line on Wednesday, January 23. In 2001, the plant achieved a record production volume of 101,600 units.

On Wednesday, January 23, the 250.000th vehicle produced at Opel Polska's Gliwice plant, an Agila "Njoy" drove off the assembly line. "It is a consecutive milestone in the history of the Gliwice plant. I'm pleased that we have achieved this volume, continuously maintaining a very high quality and safety level," said John Burton, Opel Polska Plant Director.

The Opel Polska plant produces two models, the Agila and the Astra Classic.

In 2001, a record production volume in the plant history was achieved reaching 101.600 units, among them 82.140 Agilas. 93 percent of its whole production had been exported to about 30 European countries.

On January 2002, production of the Agila "Njoy", the new design edition of Opel best selling microvan, has begun at the Gliwice plant. The Agila "Njoy" features a unique, two-tone paint finish in "Aztec Gold" and "Star Silver" with interior design cues to match. The new top model in the Agila line-up targets younger customers and is powered by a lively 55 kW/75 hp 1.2-liter, 16V, Ecotec engine.
