Vauxhall sells its half millionth Vectra in the UK

This month, Vauxhall sold its half millionth Vectra in the UK. The current Vectra has been a strong seller from day one. The soon to be launched new Vectra will deliver a similar combination of comfort, equipment, long distance ability and styling - and much more.

With the excitement surrounding the launch of the new Vectra, it may have been forgotten along the way that the outgoing model is still for sale, and still succeeding where it matters - with the buying public.

Total sales in the UK since it was launched in the autumn of 1995 reached 500,196 at the end of January.

Vectra has been a strong seller from day one. In 1997, the Vectra 1.8 LS hatchback was Britain's best selling model, while following the facelift early in 1999, the Vectra was the biggest seller in the upper medium segment for two years running in 1999 and 2000, with 15% share.

Vauxhall's venerable hatch has also been winning numerous awards along the way, receiving particular praise from business users, many of whom average over 25,000 miles a year.

Bill Parfitt, Vauxhall Executive Director Sales and Marketing, commented: "Vauxhall has a long history of success in this market sector, and half a million Vectras sold in the UK is testament to this. Our customers choose current Vectra for its combination of comfort, equipment, long distance ability and styling. The new Vectra will deliver all of these - and much more."

The current Vectra has never been better value than now; prices start at just £ 12,495 for the Vectra Tourer, a family sized estate that comes, as standard, with twin airbags, ABS, remote control central locking, alloy wheels and a CD player.
