Vauxhall is three-time winner at "What Car?" awards
Vauxhall has motored in smoothly to take three top spots in the prestigious "What Car?" Car of the Year Awards with the VX220, Zafira and Astra Convertible. Even more significant is the fact that the Zafira has taken the award for three consecutive years -- and the VX220 for the second successive year.
In the "What Car?" Car of the Year Awards, Vauxhall took top honors in the Roadster, MPV and Convertible categories with its VX220, its Zafira flexible seven-seater and the handsome Astra Convertible.
The "What Car?" panel of judges had glowing praise for all three Vauxhall winners. Of the stunning VX220, they said: 'every chance to drive a VX is still an event to savor.'
According to "What Car?", the Zafira has a head start in terms of driving pleasure' while the Astra Convertible won the class on 'its blend of strengths and style.'
The "What Car?" Car of the Year Awards are regarded as among the most influential by the industry and public alike. Many of their annual surveys are used by third parties.
Bill Parfitt, Vauxhall Executive Director Sales and Marketing, said: "These awards show that we are really making the cars that people want to own."
"How many other manufacturers can produce a car like Zafira that remains so fresh that it wins the top award three times in three years? Or how many can produce a sports car that wins the award on each of the two occasions it has been eligible? After all it has only been available for 15 months."
He added: "Watch this space for our next assault on the marketplace when the new Vectra goes on sale in June."
