Vectra receives positive press coverage

Weeks before the world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show, the all-new, 2002 Opel Vectra is already enjoying positive feedback from media around the world. The official launch in Geneva is expected to generate even more praise from the media as well as from the viewing public.

The all-new Opel Vectra is receiving positive reactions from the media, weeks before its official debut at the 72nd Geneva Motor Show in March. Peter Hannemann of Germany's Handelsblatt writes that the 2002 Vectra fills several needs. In addition, the Vectra's attractive body form, the spacious interior and the dynamic and stable handling all whisper "premium" quality.

Germany's Auto Bild, Germany's popular weekly auto magazine, writes "Is it quiet in the room? Okay. This is just about the volume of the new Vectra when driving in fifth gear at 80, 100 or 120 km/h....I couldn't believe my ears."

Wolfgang Peters of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung praises the new Vectra: "With the new Vectra, Opel has laid the foundation for a new beginning. I was impressed by the Vectra after the first test drive.... The interior of the Vectra provides sinful indulgence without arrogance.... The Vectra is modest like a banker who manages wealth which also happens to belong to him."

The third-generation Vectra is a completely new design, notable in particular for generous interior space, high standards of comfort, handling and safety, expressive styling and innovative technical features. It will be available as a four-door sedan and as the coupé-style Vectra GTS.

Production of the all-new Vectra started on January 7, 2002 at Opel's new plant in Rüsselsheim, Germany -- considered to be the most modern passenger car plant in the world. Opel plans to produce 270,000 units of up to four different models annually in a three-shift, flexible line system at the new facility.
