January orders for Zafira reach record levels
In January, more than 28,800 orders for the compact van have been received in Europe, setting a new record. In addition, positive feedback for the Zafira OPC has prompted a doubling in production capacity of the Zafira OPC to 8,500 units during the early part of the year.
The Zafira is already on the road to success. Orders for the Zafira reached record levels in January, as 28,800 compact vans were ordered in Europe. This compares with sales of 20,478 in January of last year.
Also gaining in popularity is the Zafira OPC (141 kW/192 PS) with its unique Flex-7 system. The Zafira OPC reaches top speeds of 200 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.1 seconds. In order to meet the anticipated demand, production of the Opel Zafira OPC will be doubled in the early part of the year to 8,500 units.
In January, the Zafira 2.2 DTI direct-injection turbo-diesel with 92 kW/126 PS joined the successful compact van range. The 2.2 liter ECOTEC engine achieves a maximum torque of 280 Nm and makes Zafira 2.2 DTI one of the strongest in its class. It reaches top speeds of 187 km/h, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 11.5 seconds.
