More awards for Zafira in England

Vauxhall's seven-seater Zafira MPV continues its unstoppable success story with three further accolades announced within days of each other. "What Car?", "Fleet News" and "Auto Express" praise Zafira highly.

The influential "Fleet News" publication, required reading by the huge fleet operator market, selected Zafira as the best mini MPV with the words: "After three hard driven fleet years, the Zafira appears to be lasting the course in better shape than its arch rival, the Renault Scenic. Used Zafiras are being snapped up in a way that promises strong residual values for a long time to come."

Meanwhile the leading motoring consumer magazine "Auto Express" has named Zafira as its "Used Car of the Year" and "Compact MPV of the Year".

In the English fleet market, Zafira has outsold the Renault Scenic in the fleet market every month since last October.

Zafira is raising as many eyebrows today as it did on launch with its excellent ride and handling - and its revolutionary flexible seating system that can change from a full seven seater to a two seater in a matter of seconds. And unlike most of the competition, the seats stay hidden inside the car!

Zafira's sales record across Europe is stunning: in around two and a half years until the end of 2001 the car had seen 578,720 registrations. In the UK, to date
more than 60,000 people have chosen Zafira.

The 2002 Fleet News and Auto Express awards come soon after Zafira swept to top spot for the third consecutive year in the "What Car? - Car of the Year Awards". It also won the Fleet News award two years ago.

It has twice been named winner of the Compact MPV category in the annual "Auto Express New Car Honours" and has brought home several "best used car" awards.

Vauxhall intends to keep Zafira as fresh as the day it was launched. A Gsi Turbo version went on sale at the end of last year, and the people mover will shortly become available with a DVD home cinema system - guaranteed to entertain the whole family on long journeys - as well as in Dualfuel petrol/LPG form.

Says Vauxhall Fleet Sales Director Maurice Howkins: "Last year Zafira increased its fleet sales by a staggering 45 per cent over 2000. This year we are seeing the same level of increase. In fleet terms we are now clearly the regular best selling MPV."
