Opel to premiere two OPC models in Leipzig
At the Auto Mobil International in Leipzig from April 13 to April 21, 2002, Opel is planning a double world premiere of two Astra OPC models as well as the German premiere of the new Vectra and Concept M van study.
Germany is preparing for its important auto show, the 12th Auto Mobil International in Leipzig, which runs from April 13 to April 21, 2002. Opel expects to receive approximately 250,000 visitors to its 2,000 square-meter stand. 31 Opel, Cadillac and Chevrolet vehicles will be on display, including the following:
- New Vectra and Vectra GTS: The Vectra enjoys its German premiere in Leipzig and will be available in Germany starting April 27, 2002. The sporty Vectra GTS will follow in the summer. Visitors to the show will be able to test drive the new Vectra at a stand located in front of the convention center.
- Astra OPC and Astra Caravan OPC: Making their world premiere at Germany's important auto show in Leipzig, the three-door Astra OPC and the Astra Caravan OPC, scheduled for sale in the fall, have both been designed for high performance. Fitted with 141 kW/192 PS 2.0 liter ECOTEC turbo-charged engines, the OPC models provide sport-oriented customers excellent sprint capabilities. The two models offer a sporty exterior as well as a refined interior.
- Concept M study: Also enjoying its German premiere, the Concept M study defines a new form for vans, with plenty of space for four passengers, high performance and low emissions. The 1.6-liter ECOTEC turbo-charged engine runs on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and generates 110kW/150hp.
- Other highlights on the Opel stand at Leipzig include the new "OnStar C@rWeb" mobile internet service, the new Corsa Eco, Combo Combi, Astra Cabrio Turbo, Zafira 2.2 DTI and Agila Njoy as well as the dynamic "sports" version of the Corsa, Astra und Zafira. Visitors to the show will be able to test drive selected Opel vehicles, including the new Vectra and the Agila Njoy.
