Vauxhall dualfuel fleet takes top award
Vauxhall has won the prestigious Environmental Award in this year's Fleet World Honours event thanks to its wide range of advanced dualfuel vehicles that brings both substantial running cost and environmental benefits.
Fleet World editor Bob Oxford said: "Vauxhall was first with properly engineered gas powered cars and vans and has continued to invest in their development. The company is also well advanced with fuel-cell technology, which is likely to power cars 10 years from now. No company could do more."
The company was first to launch a range of manufacturer warranted models able to run on both conventional unleaded petrol and LPG.
Driving a Vauxhall factory equipped LPG car is virtually no different from running on petrol. You start on petrol and switch over to LPG and enjoy the cash savings. Filling the gas tank costs about £15 a time.
Compared with petrol or diesel, an LPG driver kicks out 15% less CO2 and vastly decreased NOx and particulates. The Vauxhall cars are all clean enough to qualify for the top level of Powershift funding. The reduction in CO2 emissions should also reduce the driver's tax liabilities.
