In the fall two particularly sporty Opel models – the three-door Astra OPC and the Astra OPC station wagon – will go on sale in Germany. Outstanding power is provided by a 2.0-liter ECOTEC turbo engine which is rated at 147 kW/200 hp. Accelerating from a standstill to 100 km/h in under eight seconds* and with a top speed of 240 km/h* (station wagon: 231 km/h*) the two speedy compact models qualify for the sports car league (*performance figures provisional).

As well as the powerful turbo engine the OPC specialists have also exclusively upgraded the equipment and visual appearance of the new top-of-the-line Astra models. A standard sports chassis with firmer spring and damper settings and 215/45 ZR 17 tires (three-door: 215/40 ZR 17) on light alloy rims with a sporty OPC design (7.5 J x17), the electronic stability program (ESP) which has been specially optimized to improve driving dynamics, the traction control system TC Plus and a powerful 16-inch brake system with ventilated disks all round all demonstrate the dynamism of the latest OPC creations.
