With its elegant looks and complete standard equipment package, the Opel Frontera Avenue is the ideal off-road vehicle for everyday use in the city. In addition to the Frontera's proven off-road capabilities, comfort and handling essentials have also been improved.

Unlike other versions of the Frontera, the new model does not have a spare wheel at the back. This aids maneuverability and parking in the city and also gives better access to the large luggage compartment.

Side protection moldings and bumpers are in the same color as the vehicle. New, high-quality seat covers highlight the Frontera Avenue's elegant appearance and is available with all Frontera engines – the 2.2 ECOTEC, 2.2 DTI ECOTEC and the 3.2 V6. The factory-fitted equipment list includes full-size airbags for the driver and front seat passenger, air conditioning, power windows, 16-inch light alloy wheels, fog lamps and radio remote controlled central locking.

The 2.2 DTI ECOTEC direct-injection turbo diesel power unit in the Frontera has been upgraded for the new model year. The powerful diesel now complies with the Euro 3 exhaust emissions standard and is rated at 88 kW/120 hp (previously 85 kW/115 hp); the maximum torque has been increased by 20 to 280 Nm and is always available between 1500 and 2750 rpm. At the same time, fuel consumption has been reduced. The three-door Frontera Sport 2.2 DTI covers 100 kilometers on only 8.3 liters of diesel (down from 8.6 liters) while the Frontera 2.2 DTI with the long wheelbase now requires only 8.5 liters of diesel for the 100-kilometer combined cycle (down from 8.7).
