Austrian wins Corvette photo competition

Judged by an independent international jury including Bob Lutz, Chairman GM North America, Michael Lindtner of Austria's "Split Window" was selected as the winner of the Best Corvette photo competition at the Paris Motor Show.

A major photography competition marking the Corvette's 50th anniversary attracted over 100 professional photographers with over 500 entries from eight European countries. The competition, with awards exceeding €20,000, was organized by GM Europe to mark this important milestone in the history of this legendary sports car. Michael Lindtner of Austria emerged as the winner with his photo titled "Split Window".

The independent international jury judged Lindtner's "Split Window" picture worthy of the €7,500 first prize. Together with 46 other selected entries, the winning photo is on display at the GM stand at the Paris Motor Show where over one million visitors are expected

The jury, which featured star photographer and Corvette driver Helmut Newton, Bob Lutz, Corvette chief engineer Dave Hill, and leading industry media editors and designers, was impressed by the standard and diversity of the photos. "It was extremely difficult to choose the prizewinners. All photographers managed to show the car in a fascinating perspective and captured legendary elegance of the world's oldest sport scar," summed up Bob Lutz.

Second prize (€5,000) was awarded to Daniel Reinhardt of Switzerland for his "Power of Speed," while "Le Bête Someille" won Serge Potier of France third prize (€2,500). The next best seven entries won a valuable Corvette Sinn watch.

Following their public debut in the French capital, the photos will tour special exhibitions across Europe over the next few months.
