TIME magazine has released its list of 2002 Best Inventions and the GM Hy-wire fuel cell vehicle concept has been chosen one of the publication's favorite innovations.

TIME compiles its list of best inventions based on the life changing affect the ideas have on society. The Hy-wire is among several ground-breaking inventions making the list, which stretch today's possibilities into tomorrow's reality, including a "phone tooth" that can be embedded in a molar to receive cell-phone calls, and a Virtual Fetus Ultrasound that allows a parent to touch and bond with a baby before it is born.

The complete listing of the TIME's 2002 Best Inventions are featured in the publication's Nov. 11, 2002, issue.
