The 27th Bologna Motor Show is an international car and
motorcycle annual event opening this weekend and continuing through to
December 15, 2002. GM Daewoo, Opel and Chevrolet will highlight the Matiz,
the Meriva and the Corvette.
Over 1 million people visited the 132,000 m2 of indoor exhibition space
last year and attendance is expected to increase in this medieval city
known for fast cars and fine food.
GM Daewoo will debut the new 1.0-liter, four cylinder Matiz, Opel will
present the Meriva as well as the Vectra GTS, Astra OPC and Astra Metano
and Chevrolet will show the ever-popular Corvette.
The Matiz, will now be more attractive than ever to European drivers with
the introduction a new modern four-cylinder engine. With its smooth running
qualities and extra power, the new engine is a good partner for long-distance
driving.
Since it was launched in 1998, the five-door Matiz has gained more than
half a million fans throughout Europe. Just 3.50 meters long, it is the
biggest selling Daewoo in Europe. Apart from the smart styling, the main
advantages of the Matiz are its comfortable spaciousness despite its size,
its five-door functionality, its favorable price, and its low maintenance
costs.
The Opel Meriva is one of the first mainstream European brands to enter
the small minicab market and the Bologna Motor Show marks its debut in
the important Italian market.
Opel's Vectra and Astra families will be well represented by the
Vectra GTS and Astra Metano. The new Astra OPC is sure to impress this
fast-car loving audience.
