More awards for Hy-wire and Hydrogen3 in Croatia
The Croatian Association of Automotive Journalist awarded the Golden Steering Wheel to the Hy-wire. The Hydrogen 3 was recognized as the "most ecological" vehicle.
General Motors and Opel won two prestigious awards from the Croatian Association of Automotive Journalists. The 31 jury members awarded the Golden Steering Wheel to the Hy-Wire, recognizing it as the "most refined and advanced technical innovation in 2002". At the same time, the Opel Hydrogen 3 was awarded as the most ecological vehicle.
The award giving ceremony took place in the Croatian Capital, Zagreb on Friday, January 31. The Golden Steering Wheels were handed over by Bozo Kovacevic, Croatian minister of Environment (left on the photo) to Andy Dunstan, Operations Manager for Opel Southeast Europe. Andy Dunstan comments: "Already today, Opel and GM have the cars of tomorrow. These cars also prove how much effort, time and money GM and Opel invest into the protection of the environment. The Hydrogen 3 is a concept which could hit the roads tomorrow while Hy-Wire is the revolutionary redefinition of the cars for tomorrow."
The Croatian Association of Automotive Journalists also appreciated that GM provided the media with the unique chance to drive these vehicles themselves, gain first hand experience both on the vehicles and the technologies behind them. Five journalists from Croatia attended the Hy-wire, Hydrogen 3 workshop in Monaco at the end of last year.
