New 2.0 ECOTEC Turbo Engine in the Opel Vectra GTS

175 hp aluminum engine features strong pulling power and refinement and a newly developed six-speed gearbox is ideal match for the 2.0 Turbo engine.

The new turbo version of the Opel Vectra GTS is celebrating its premier at the Geneva International Motor Show (March 6 to March 16, 2003). The sport sedan features a newly developed 2.0-liter all-aluminum ECOTEC Turbo engine. The 129 kW (175 hp) ECOTEC Turbo, the most powerful four-cylinder unit in the Vectra family, comes equipped with an all-new compact six-speed gearbox.

Together they deliver strong pulling power and refined driving characteristics. The impressive maximum torque of 265 Newton meters between 2500 and 3800 rpm is the basis for this performance. The Vectra GTS Turbo accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 9.1 seconds and sprints from 80 to 120 km/h in 9.2 seconds. Top speed is 230 km/h. The Euro-4 rated engine in the Vectra GTS consumes 8.9 liters of super gasoline per 100 kilometers (MVEG).

Opel is offering the new 2.0-liter turbo engine - based on the 2.2-Liter ECOTEC aluminum unit - on all of its Vectra models, and the new Signum. To mark the introduction of this new engine, Opel will launch an exclusive Vectra GTS Turbo variant with 16-spoke, 17-inch alloy wheels, in the spring.
