Peek at New Astra interior

Vauxhall provides a first glimpse of the interior of its new Astra, well before the car goes on sale next spring.

Vauxhall has provided a first glimpse of the interior of its new Astra, well before the car goes on sale next spring. Elements normally found only in the luxury sector have now reached the Astra-size market segment which now accounts for a quarter of all new cars sold.

One striking new styling feature is the crease on the center console that runs from the very front of the hood right into the interior. Further eye-catching developments in the Astra's include three-dimensional instruments and a 6.5-inch monitor for the information display.

An all-new infotainment system will be available ranging from a top quality audio unit with MP3 function to a digital radio with CD quality and a six-CD changer integrated into the front panel. There are new steering wheel remote controls with buttons and turn-press wheels similar to those on a computer mouse for safe and comfortable selection of functions.
