Global sales for Saab Automobile in September showed a 42 percent increase compared to the same month last year, giving a 7.6 percent gain for the first nine months. Year-to-date, a total of 99,970 cars have been sold with 7,085 units more than for the same period in 2002.
So far this year, 18,485 cars have been sold on the Swedish market, representing an increase of almost seven per cent against last year. Sales in the USA are continuing to increase to record levels. The year-to-date volume of 37,397 cars shows a 23 percent gain, including 4,367 cars sold in September which is more than double the volume for the same month last year.
So far, 2003 is Saab's best-ever sales year in its 47-year history on the American market. "Generally speaking, we have seen very good sales developing for the new Saab 9-3 Sport Sedan. There has also been some positive sales growth in many European markets, including Sweden and Italy," says Jan-Ake Jonsson, Saab Automobile's Vice President, Sales & Marketing for Europe and Asia.
