New Vauxhall thunders in from down under

Powered by a 5.7 liter V8 engine with 328 hp and 347 lbs/ft of torque, the new Vauxhall Monaro full sized four-seat coupe will be available Spring 2004.

The Vauxhall Monaro will be available in the UK starting next spring. Powered by a 5.7 liter V8 engine with 328 hp and 347 lbs/ft of torque, this stylish full sized four-seat coupe will accelerate to 60mph in just over six seconds and reach top speeds in excess of 160mph.

Initially launched in Australia in 2001, Vauxhall will bring a limited number of Monaros - 300 per year - to car enthusiasts in the UK. The cars will be sold in the UK with a comprehensive specification including leather eight-way electric seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, full size driver, passenger and side airbags, electronic climate control and six-disc auto-changer.

The Vauxhall Monaro promises to offer more power per pound than any car on the UK roads.
