Meriva is "Family Car of The Year" in Sweden

The Swedish motor magazine "Motorföraren" has awarded the Opel Meriva the Family Car of the Year 2003.

The Opel Meriva is "Family Car of The Year 2003" in Sweden. With its standard FlexSpace concept, the Meriva received the award from the magazine "Motorföraren".

This is the third time an Opel with a versatile interior concept has won this title, after the Zafira (1999) and the Agila (2000).

A jury composed of 11 motoring journalists from Swedish newspapers and car magazines rated the test candidates' ease of use, safety, environmental compatibility, and running costs (including price). The Meriva scored well in all categories, especially for its versatile seating-concept (seat-removal is unnecessary) and its high level of safety. The jury was particularly impressed by the way the Meriva unites all requirements for minivans in a single unique concept.

Over the last year the Meriva received the "MPV Design Prize" from the British Institute of Vehicle Engineers for its interior concept and attractive exterior design. "Auto Zeitung" and "TV Movie" also awarded the Meriva an "Auto Trophy" while readers of these German magazines voted the Meriva number one in the category "Best Value For Money 2003".

Since May 2003 over 100,000 customers have chosen the Meriva.
