GM Daewoo and ebay.co.uk host charity car auction
GM Daewoo has teamed up with eBay, the world's online marketplace, to hold a unique charity car auction to help raise vital funds for NCH, one of the UK's leading children's charities.
GM Daewoo auction a Daewoo Kalos 1.2 Xtra five-door family hatchback on eBay.co.uk on December 1, 2003. The car is available to anyone visiting the eBay website (www.ebay.co.uk) and will run until Monday, December 8, 2003.
The opening bid for the Kalos, which normally retails at £6995, will begin at just £1 and is expected to start a bidding war between the millions of registered eBay users looking for that special Christmas bargain. All proceeds from the sale will be donated to NCH.
GM Daewoo's e-commerce and direct marketing manager, Matthew Young said: "As a company with strong family appeal and values it is appropriate we support a charity which does so much good work for children and families in the local community. The auction heralds the start of a major partnership between GM Daewoo and NCH.
Commenting on the auction and the expected bidding frenzy, Paul Witten, director eBay Motors said: "As the UK's largest online marketplace, we are delighted to host this charity auction to help GM Daewoo in its support of NCH. As the auction starts at just £1, we anticipate that it will generate a big response from our millions of regular users. Potentially one lucky eBay customer will walk away with a fantastic new Kalos for Christmas but also with the knowledge that they have supported a great cause."
NCH runs over 500 projects across the UK, working with over 100,000 vulnerable children, young people and their families who need it the most. It is the largest national provider of services to disabled children and their families, of neighborhood and family community centers and of services for young people leaving care.
