Daewoo supports young snowboard professionals in Switzerland
Tanja and Manuel Uhlmann, two young Swiss "boardercrossers", have their sights set on the 2006 Olympic Winter Games. Daewoo is supporting them with two new Tacuma MPVs.
The two Swiss snowboard professionals received their variable MPVs from the Stoop dealership in Zürich-Schlieren. Daewoo Automobile Schweiz AG supports the two siblings with a sponsoring contract.
"It is our philosophy to smooth the way for tomorrow's stars, instead of supporting already successful and well-known athletes," explained Michel Rutschmann of Daewoo Schweiz.
The Uhlmanns compete in "Snowboardcross", a spectacular category of snowboarding in which six competitors race each other down a highly challenging run. Manuel Uhlmann (23) finished fifth in the 2003 World Championships in Austria. His sister Tanja (19) was Junior Snowboard World Champion in 2001.
