Opel Meriva selected Van of the Year 2004 in Bulgaria

Sponsored by the Bulgarian Association of car importers, the Bulgarian COTY awards selected the Opel Meriva as Van of the Year 2004.

Sponsored by the Bulgarian Association of car importers, the Bulgarian COTY awards are given annually in Sofia. This year's jury of 20 automotive journalists selected the Opel Meriva as Van of the Year 2004.

In the Van category the Opel Meriva won with 162.5 points, ahead of Ford Connect (150.7 points) and Citroen C8 (107 points). The jury was impressed with Meriva's functionality and versatility and added that the Meriva's low operating costs clearly represent good value for money.

Since inception of the national COTY award in 1998 Opel has successfully held the lead over the competition. In recent years, awards include:

2004 - Meriva Van of the Year
2003 - Vectra Car of the Year
2001 - Zafira Car of the Year
