2004 North American International Auto Show
GM reinforced its commitment to producing compelling vehicles with the
introduction of several new concept and production models this past weekend
at the 2004 North American International Auto Show.
GM is continuing its product offensive with introductions of the new
Chevrolet Cobalt and 2005 Corvette, Saab 9-2X, Pontiac G6 and Solstice,
Buick Terraza and Saturn RELAY.
Three all new concept vehicles make their
debut as well, the Saturns Curve, Chevy Nomad and HUMMER H3T.
The 2005
Corvette raises the ante in sports car performance while maintaining
a reverent connection to its half-century of heritage. In addition to
the 2005 Corvette, GM will introduce the 2005 Pontiac G6 sports sedan,
the newest addition to an increasingly diverse, sophisticated and performance-oriented
family of sedans. "Great new cars filled with passion and performance
are rolling off the assembly lines at GM," said Gary L. Cowger,
President of GM North America. "The breadth of these new products
will keep GM's momentum going and help define a leadership position in
passenger cars."
GM also will show concept vehicles based on GM's all-new
Kappa architecture, as well as a version of the Pontiac Solstice roadster
that inspired the
concept vehicles' architecture.
H3T glimpses rugged refinement for midsize
market
No matter the size or configuration, a vehicle adorned with the HUMMER
name must deliver the best-in-class capabilities that have made the
brand the standard against which other off-road vehicles are measured.
That's certainly the case with the dynamic H3T, a midsize truck that
infuses all of HUMMER's military-derived DNA into an efficient, refined
package and carves a new niche in the midsize truck market.
Cadillac product
resurgence continues with two all-new models for 2004
For the 2004 model year, the breakthrough era of Cadillac vehicles reaches
full flight with two all-new entries in new segments – the XLR
luxury roadster and SRX luxury utility. In addition, 2004 ushers in
new varieties of some of Cadillac's most significant products, with
the CTS-V performance version, the new Platinum version of the Escalade
ESV and a special armored version of the DeVille, available in both
standard sedan and stretch models.
