GM France ends year with record Opel sales
GM France increases market share and is now the number one imported brand
with a record Opel sales for the year 2003.
For the year 2003, Opel recorded 120,759 passenger vehicles registrations,
reaching a 6.01% market share. On the commercial vehicles market, Opel
also holds an historic record with 10,140 registrations and a 2.7% market
share.
The Corsa, Zafira and Meriva completed the year on a very positive
note taking the number one position for imported vehicles in their respective
segments. The Corsa with 31,029 registrations returned to its number
one position in the competitive small segment. The Zafira with 35,045
new registrations overtook the competition for the number one slot in
the monocab segment and the Meriva with 4,272 new registrations in less
than one year is now number one in the small monocab segment.
" Today, Opel is investing in new ideas and technology like the
new common rail diesels and adaptative lighting," says Yves Pasquier-Desvignes,
Sales and Marketing Director for Opel at GM France. "Opel is now
in a position to capitalises on a strong design team with innovative
ideas. In addition, quality improvements have been significant."
