A new company, GMDAT Ticaret Ltd. Sti, has been established in Torbali/Izmir to import and market Chevrolet cars in Turkey. The news was announced at a press conference in Istanbul. The new line-up, available immediately at 23 Chevrolet dealerships across the country, includes the Chevrolet models Kalos, Lacetti notchback, Rezzo and Evanda. The cars are built by GM Daewoo Auto & Technology Co. at its South Korean production plants.

" I am convinced that the future is bright for Chevrolet in Turkey," said Erhard L. (Hardy) Spranger, Executive in Charge of GM Daewoo Europe. "The car market is growing again and - if all goes well - we could participate in that growth to the tune of up to 10,000 vehicles this year." The Chevrolet range in Turkey will be extended in the spring with the introduction of the Lacetti hatchback and in late summer with the launch of the Lacetti station wagon.

The new Chevrolet sales company will work together closely with the Opel and Saab organization in Turkey. Chevrolet is the value brand within the GM family in Turkey. Like its sister brand Daewoo in Western European markets, it will appeal to customers interested in vehicles with distinctive, European design, high levels of standard equipment and proven technology - all at very competitive prices. Chevrolet buyers in Turkey will benefit from a three-year, 100,000-kilometer warranty and road assistance service.
