Awards for improved safety at Opel in Rüsselsheim

Yesterday, the Opel Service and Distribution Center for spare parts, managed by Norbert Seibel, received the Opel Safety Trophy 2003. Every year, Opel awards teams for best safety and lowest accident records.

Out of the 55 teams, 31 were awarded for having not one single day of down time due to accidents in 2003. Since 1995, the level of safety at Opel has improved significantly. Accidents have been reduced by 88 percent. In 2003 alone the improvement was 37 percent compared to the previous year.

The Foam Components Manufacturing department was especially mentioned for not having any day of down time within the past eight years.
