Opel is now offering ESPPlus, the latest generation electronic stability
program with integrated traction control, for the Vivaro range. ESPPlus
is now available for all Vivaro models, except for those equipped with
the 82 hp 1.9 CDTI engine.
Opel's ESPPlus for the Vivaro is a state-of-the-art
system which works by applying brakes to more than just one wheel in
critical under
or over-steer situations. ESPPlus selectively activates the brakes on
up to three wheels and adjusts engine torque, thus providing a higher
degree of driving stability. This action produces exceptionally sensitive
and effective tracking corrections. The ESPPlus for the Vivaro includes
the traction control (TCPlus) function which makes starting up on slippery
road surfaces easier by regulating the engine output and braking the
wheels inclined to spin out. The electronic traction control function
can be deactivated manually if desired.
The Opel Vivaro is a versatile
2.8 ton class transporter, combi, bus and leisure van and is equipped
with numerous active and passive safety
components. Its sturdy body structure complements a comprehensive passenger
protection package.
Standard equipment includes airbags and safety belt
tighteners for the driver, three-point safety belts and head restraints
for all seats. The
Vivaro has independent front wheel suspension designed on the McPherson
principle and an aluminum torsion crank construction with traverse tie
rod for the rear axle. These features help produce an exceptionally stable
chassis and comfortable ride. Disk brakes all round (internally ventilated
in front) and an electronically regulated four-channel anti-lock system
with brake force distribution also contribute to the Vivaro's high
safety standards.
