Paul Copses named Executive Director, GM Europe Aftersales
Paul Copses (42), currently Director Aftersales at GM Latin America,
Africa & Middle East, is appointed Executive Director, GME Aftersales,
effective April 1, 2004. In this capacity, he succeeds Jim Raymond (55),
who is moving on to become Executive Director, GM Asia-Pacific Aftersales.
In his new position, Paul will be responsible for coordinating the entire
Aftersales business for GM Europe. He will be based in Rüsselsheim
and report to Jonathan Browning, GME Vice President, Sales, Marketing & Aftersales.
Paul
joined GM of Canada in 1984 as a college graduate in the Service Parts
Operation. He had a variety of Sales & Marketing positions
for GM in the US and in Canada, before being named Aftersales Product
manager for GM Europe, based in Antwerp, Belgium, in 1988. In 1989, he
moved to GM's Mid East Operations in Dubai to become Area Manager
for Aftersales. Paul was subsequently appointed Director Sales & Marketing,
for GM of Canada Service Parts Operations in 1995, and then in 1999 General
Director, Service Parts Operations at GM de Mexico. He was named to his
current job, in which he is based in Miami, Florida, in January 2001.
"Jim has played a key role in preparing the GME Aftersales organization
for the transition to the new Block Exemption. He was also instrumental
in restructuring the Aftersales network, particularly in Germany, in
conjunction with the Olympia turnaround project", said Jonathan
Browning. "We are grateful for his contributions over many years
in Europe. With his extensive experience, he'll be a great asset
for the Aftersales organization in Asia-Pacific."
