Opel Astra wins comparison tests
After the first wave of very positive media reviews following the press
launch in St. Tropez, France, the Astra is now tested directly against
its competitors.
The influential German car magazine, "auto, motor und sport",
chose the Opel Astra 1.6 Twinport and the VW Golf 1.6 FSI for their first
comparison test. The Astra scored 516 points and won well ahead of the
Golf with only 498 points. The Astra dominated in the categories engine,
safety, brakes and costs.
auto, motor and sport's conclusion is: "With the Astra the Rüsselsheim-based carmaker has scored a hit - with best handling, great comfort and an agile engine."
The Astra 1.4 Enjoy won the comparison test of "Auto Strassenverkehr", another German car magazine, ahead of VW Golf 1.4 FSI, Peugeot 307, Renault Megane, Mazda 3, Toyota Corolla, Ford Focus and Fiat Stilo.
