VX Collective launched with a celebrity event in London

The latest phase of Vauxhall’s increased public association with style and design was launched at a reception at The Hospital in central London last Thursday.

Vauxhall’s VX Collective brings together some of Britain’s most exciting new talent from the worlds of fashion, art, design, sport and club culture. They include James Thompson, VX Racing driver and former BTCC Champion; Giles Deacon, fashion designer; Sam Buxton, Designer of the Year 2004 nominee and Ross Allen, who regularly DJ’s on Radio One and at Cargo and Fabric – two of London’s hottest clubs. Completing the line up are Lucia Helenka, a photographic artist and filmmaker and Pete King. King’s profile as a top professional skateboarder will help drive excitement with under 17s, the next generation of Vauxhall owners.

Explaining Vauxhall’s support for the VX Collective, MD Kevin Wale said “The VX Collective reflects what we are about – committed not only to producing cars which look and feel good but also cars which inject excitement back into driving. We will support the Collective’s members while they, in turn, will help us with their experiences and insight, informing what we do so we remain at the forefront of automotive design, innovation and driving excitement.”

Amongst the guests at the launch event were TV personalities Martine McCutcheon, Gary Lucy and pop artist Tracey Emin.

Items donated by each member of the VX Collective form the basis of a unique online auction at ebay.co.uk. The auction, which will run until 25 th April, will raise funds for Sargent Cancer Care. Find out more about the auction at: http://members.ebay.co.uk/aboutme/vxcollective.
