Opel and the Eifel-Thriller

This weekend Opel will start with two Astra V8 Coupé at the legendary 24-hours race on the Nürburgring. Opel will try to defend last year's success with a very strong driver line-up. The team celebrated their victory in front of 194,000 spectators along the 26 kilometres long track.

The participation at the motorsport festival in the Eifel was preceded by an extensive test- and preparation program. Right after the end of the last DTM season the OPC Team Phoenix commenced with the construction of the 2003 DTM-based Astra V8 Coupés. During the winter the cars passed an extensive testing program, including an endurance test of several days in Estoril.

This year's driver line-up for the two Astra V8 Coupés is:
