GM Daewoo begins exporting new Nubira Station Wagon to Europe
GM Daewoo Auto & Technology (GM Daewoo) has begun exporting the new Nubira Station Wagon to Europe. The new model will also be sold in selected markets as the Lacetti Station Wagon starting in autumn.
GM Daewoo held a ceremony at the vehicle export pier of its Gunsan plant
to mark the departure of the first batch of 160 units to Germany. On
July 23, the automaker shipped an additional 720 units to Germany and
Spain and another 490 units to the Netherlands, France, Austria and Belgium.
The
dynamic and compact wagon, which comes equipped with 1.6 and 1.8-liter
engines that provide both excellent power and high fuel efficiency, will
initially be sold by GM Daewoo sales subsidiaries and distributors in
several Western European countries. GM Daewoo plans to later expand exports
to other European countries including Turkey, Poland and Bulgaria.
With
the station wagon joining the compact-class family of Lacetti and Nubira,
GM Daewoo expect total sales of these vehicles to exceed 40,000
in 2004.
