Opel leading market of natural-gas-powered vehicles

With a market share of 80 percent, Opel is playing the leading role in the market of natural-gas-powered cars in Germany. Since May, orders in Europe were approximately 1,000 vehicles per month.

Increasing fuel prices and a free navigation system made the Astra CNG and Zafira CNG more attractive for customers.

In view of this success Opel is going to bring a third model to market: The Opel Combo 1.6 CNG will hit the market by mid-2005. Thanks to its unique, space-saving underfloor gas tank system, the Combo 1.6 CNG offers as much space as conventional Combos with fuel or diesel engines.
