Hungarian Olympic champions drive Opel Astra Classic
GM Hungary is providing the members of the Hungarian Olympic team with
50 Astra Classic II models. Selected athletes have the car at their disposal
for one year. The promotion is done in cooperation with the Hungarian
Athens Club and the K&H Bank.
This partnership also promotes the Astra Classic II, which, being an
affordable entry-level model in the lower mid-size segment, is a very
important product for Hungary and the Central and Eastern European region.
The
Astra Classic II is built in Gliwice, Poland. Opel is the number two
brand in Hungary behind local manufacturer, Suzuki. However, Astra
has been the segment leader in Hungary since the first locally-built
Astra left the assembly line back in 1992.
