Progress for Chevrolet in the Ukraine

In 2004, Chevrolet sales in the Ukraine increased from only 31 units in January to more than 1,000 cars in August. Since November 2003, GM Daewoo products are sold under the Chevrolet nameplate in the country. A network of 21 Chevrolet dealerships has been established by independent importer UKR AUTO ZAZ SERVICE and the Budapest-based regional headquarters, GM Daewoo Central & Eastern Europe.

The full product portfolio of GM Daewoo is offered in the Ukraine. The Chevrolet Aveo (Kalos) and the Chevrolet Lacetti are very popular and competitive on the Ukrainian market.

Since April 2004, the cars are sent to the Ukraine as SKD kits (semi-knocked-down) from Korea and are assembled there by GM’s local partner, Auto ZAZ.
