Vauxhall products win four prizes in one week
Vauxhall is being forced to extend its trophy cabinet after receiving no less than four prestigious awards in one week! The prizes, all from specialist organisations and publications were awarded to vehicles across the Vauxhall range, reflecting the company’s commitment to thoughtful design.
The first trophy was awarded by the Caravan Club, who named the Vectra 3.0 CDTi Elite as its favourite family car in the 2005 Towcar of the Year awards. The annual event, which is now in its 22 nd year, attracted 51 entries from 22 manufacturers. The cars are judged by experienced caravanning and motoring journalists including What Car? magazine Group Editor Steve Fowler. Besides the Vectra CDTi’s excellent pulling power, the stylish hatchback was also marked highly for its practicality and labour-saving features.
Meanwhile, the best-selling Zafira picked up two awards, proving how its ground breaking Flex7 system makes life easier for family motorists. The hardest judges of all – real owners with young families – voted the MPV as their ‘Best Buy’ in Prima Baby magazine. The awards, which will be announced in the November issue, were launched to celebrate those outstanding products and services that help make life easier for Britain’s new parents and mums-to-be. This award was backed up by expert journalists from What MPV and 4x4? Magazine, who awarded Zafira the title of Used MPV of the Year for 2004.
It’s not just the car range which has been carrying off the silverware, as the seriously big and versatile Vauxhall Movano has been named Van of the Year by the influential publicationWhat Van?. Movano, the heavyweight at the top of the Vauxhall CV range, was commended for its styling, practicality and performance after extensive testing by the What Van? staff. The award endorses Vauxhall’s position as a significant player in the heavy van sector.
