Opel Astra among finalists of “2004 Car of the Year” award in South Africa

The new Opel Astra 1.8 Sport has been chosen as one of the finalists for the “2004 Car of the Year” award in South Africa.

The Opel Astra 1.8 Sport will compete against the following vehicles:

• Audi A6 3.0 TDI quattro
• BMW 120i manual
• Mazda 3 1.6 Dynamic sedan
• Peugeot 407 2.2 ST Sport
• Volvo S40 2.4 manual
• VW Golf 5 2.0 TDI Sportline

The finalists will be rated by 30 jury members in a three-day session in January 2005. The results will be announced in March 2005.
