Saab 9-5 FFV praised in Swedish motoring magazine

The Saab 9-5 FFV (Flex Fuel Vehicle) is beginning to attract media attention.

"Environmental car with extra power" was the headline of the article about the Saab 9-5 FFV in last week’s issue of the Swedish Auto, Motor & Sport magazine.

The magazine wrote: "With E85 fuel (85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline) the engine management system lifts power to 180 bhp. Behind the wheel, it feels really sporty. Apart from the extra power and the lower fuel cost, there are other distinct bonuses with this buy: a 20 percent lower benefit-in-kind tax for company car users and free parking in some cities."

The " flex-fuel " 2.0-liter turbo engine that runs on ethanol, an eco-friendly renewable energy source, is being developed for the Saab 9-5 range. The Saab 9-5 FFV will go on sale in spring 2005 in Sweden only. Depending on local infrastructure and customer interest other markets will be taken into consideration.
