Opel Astra wins yet another comparison test

The Astra did it again: In the latest issue of the German car magazine “Auto Strassenverkehr”, the Opel Astra 1.6 Twinport Enjoy beats its major rivals, the VW Golf 1.6 FSI Sportline and the new Ford Focus 1.6 Ti-VCT Titanium.

In particular, the magazine praised the Astra’s driving comfort: “Its springing is well balanced and it is the most silent one of the three contestants.” The Astra also beat its competitors in the area of cost. When it comes to driving pleasure, the Astra is shortly behind the Focus. The Golf dominated in the area of safety.

With 13 points, the Astra wins the comparison test ahead of Focus and Golf (both with 12 points).

Auto Strassenverkehr’s verdict: “The Opel wins because the VW’s engine is not as good and the Ford shows weaknesses in handling. The Golf loses points due to its weak engine. The Astra also wins because it offers the best combination of fun and functionality.”
