Deutsche Telekom drives Combo 1.6 CNG
The German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom has added five Opel Combo 1.6 CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) models to its fleet even before the official start of sales. Last November, Deutsch Telekom already purchased 259 Astra station wagons with CNG engines. The decisive factors for Deutsche Telekom’s decision to buy CNG models were the high efficiency and low emissions.
Opel adds the Combo 1.6 CNG to its CNG line-up in May. Like the other CNG variants, Zafira and Astra station wagon, the Combo is equipped with gas tanks as well as a 14 liter fuel reserve. Thanks to this system, the Combo is fully suitable for day-to-day use, is fun to drive and can cover a total range of 550 kilometers. Owing to its unique, space-saving underfloor gas tank system, the Combo 1.6 CNG offers as much space as conventional Combos with fuel or diesel engines.
Opel is the leading manufacturer of cars powered by compressed natural gas in Europe. The CNG cars are produced by Opel Special Vehicles in Rüsselsheim, Germany.
