Astra beats BMW 1-series and Alfa 147

In a comparison test conducted by the German motoring magazine “AutoBild”, the Opel Astra 1.9 CDTI beat its competitors, BMW 120d and Alfa Romeo 147 1.9 JTD 16V.

The magazine puts the Astra clearly ahead of the two competitor vehicles. In particular, the magazine praises the Astras’ roomy interior in the trunk as well as on the back seats. The Astra also gets the best rating in terms of brakes, overall driving comfort, price and the maintenance.

In addition, the Astra has the lowest fuel consumption of the three models tested: Its 7.2 liters per 100 kilometers are referred to “exemplary” .

According to “AutoBild”, the BMW has the best acceleration. When it comes to elasticity, however, the Astra and the BMW share the crown.

All in all it’s an impressive victory for the Astra:
