New Opel Combo Arizona: lifestyle van with striking off-road looks

A sport- and leisure-oriented variant of the Opel Combo, the Arizona, makes its world premiere at the International Motor Show in Leipzig (April 2 - 10, 2005).

The Combo Arizona is well-equipped for rough roads thanks to the standard “Bad Road” equipment package. The latter is available for all Combo models and features modified suspension tuning with 20 mm higher ground clearance, which is raised even higher thanks to special 185/65 HR 15 tires. The package also includes protective shields for the engine compartment and fuel tank as well as reinforced cladding around the hand-brake cable.

In addition to the 1.4 TWINPORT gasoline engine (66 kW/90 hp) and two common-rail turbo-diesel 1.3 CDTI and 1.7 CDTI units (51 kW/ 70 hp and 74 kW/100 hp), the particularly economical and environmentally compatible 1.6 CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) engine with 71 kW/97 hp will be available at market launch in the autumn.

The roomy five-seater’s great leisure-time potential can be further enhanced by an optional electrically operated folding top that opens over the entire roof length and gives all passengers an open-air feeling.

A newly developed bicycle-rack concept further increases the Combo Arizona’s recreational potential. It will also be available for all other five-seat Combo models. Up to two fixtures can be integrated into the back of the separable rear bench seat for transporting all types of bicycles. When not in use, the telescopic poles swivel into a space-saving rest position, taking away next to none of the generous cargo volume space.

The Combo Arizona can be ordered beginning in August.
