Automotive research institutes confirm high quality of new Opel cars and dealer satisfaction

Two of the most renowned research institutes in the automotive industry have surveyed dealer satisfaction in the German car market. The Automotive Research Center at the University of Bamberg evaluated 26 brands, while the Institute for Automotive Research at the Nürtingen University of Applied Sciences analyzed data on 28 brands. Opel received top marks in both studies, confirming the positive trend of the recent past.

In the independent and scientifically-based „Dealer Satisfaction Index“ -- conducted by the Research Center in Bamberg since 1995 -- Opel excelled in “New Car Quality” with an excellent second place, well ahead of all other German automakers. In only two years, Opel’s cars jumped from a mid-field ranking to fourth place last year and second this year. This reflects the result of “Auto Bild” magazine’s quality report from November 2004, in which Opel also emerged as the best German brand. In the brand monitoring report by the Nürtingen Institute, which has monitored dealer satisfaction since 1998, Opel is the number one German volume carmaker in 2005.
